Marion Cartwright - Leading Conservationists in Lake Forest

Marion moved to Lake Forest in 1996 and raised her family here. She’s been very involved in community organizations that focus on our natural resources. She is the former co-director of the Garden at Elawa Farm where she worked for seven years. She is active in the Lake Forest Open Lands Association, where she has taught educational courses, overseen restoration programs and served on its staff.

Marion moved to Lake Forest in 1996 and raised her family here. She’s been very involved in community organizations that focus on our natural resources. She is the former co-director of the Garden at Elawa Farm where she worked for seven years. She is active in the Lake Forest Open Lands Association, where she has taught educational courses, overseen restoration programs and served on its staff. 

Marion is currently a member of the Open Lands Board of Governors.  Marion is also a site steward for MacArthur Woods, a 560 acre woodland to our west that is owned and operated by Lake County Forest Preserve. She is an expert in conservation and land stewardship, organic vegetable gardening and composting. Marion is a leader of Green Minds Lake Forest Lake Bluff, a community group that works to bring awareness to environmental issues and encourages common sense practices that will help make our communities more sustainable.

Marion grew up on the north shore and attended New Trier High School and is a graduate of Dartmouth College
